I just have limited knowledge from watching the web cams (Lake McDonald and St Mary)-link below. It seems it hasn't been bad lately, but that can change depending on the weather/winds...also concerned that local fires could pop up as the season progresses.

We'll be in the park the first week of September, planning to hike from Goat Haunt to Many Glacier- maybe we'll cross paths:-)

My daughter was in and around Glacier July 9 to 17. Most of their days were perfectly clear with great visibility as I understand it except for July 13 which was very smokey and obscured the views.

Some days it’s been good, others bad. All depends on how the wind blows. I’d say the good days have outweighed the bad so far.

Spent the past weekend (July 22-25) in Glacier and Waterton. Air was clear, temperatures quite warm but cooler and very windy on the 25th. Several new fires reported in eastern Idaho and western Montana so conditions may change. This morning (July 26, 2023) on the Rocky Mountain Front north of Choteau the air is sparkling clear.
