I notice the Glacier Haven has a website at http://www.glacierhaveninn.com/

It looks like a nice place although for lodging, their cancellation policy is a bit harsh.

I certainly agree with the replies here. If you are planning to do things on the GTTS road, or around Many Glacier, staying at St. Mary would clearly be preferrable. My understanding is that Amtrak on time performance in the Glacier area seems to be very good. You can check train status on the Amtrak site and put in the station code GPK for East Glacier and No. 7 for the westbound train or No. 8 for the eastbound train. U.S. Route 2 restaurants

There aren't a great many places to eat on U.S. Route 2 between East and West Glacier. The Izaak Walton gets good reviews. The Summit Station Inn sounds good but seems a bit upscale. There are a few places which I think have been around for many years but which are probably more bars than restaurant...
