Re: Thanks Chatters!

It was a great pleasure collecting photos and making the quilt for Mandy and Linc. When I do a project like that I am usually ready to send it away, but I must admit, it was sad to say goodbye to that one. I know, though, that it went to a good home and that Mandy and Linc will enjoy it for a long t...

Re: Lolo Motorway, Clearwater Nat'l Forest, ID

I actually lived in Kooski, ID for about a year. I never did take the Lolo Parkway, but even Hwy 12 can be an adventure if you get behind a string of motorhomes who refuse to pull over into the "slow vehicle" turnoffs. There is something just a little daunting about a road sign that says &...

Re: Many Glacier boat tour

The boat tour guides tell you that the little hill between the two boats is about equal to walking from the first to the third floor of the Many Glacier Hotel, and they give you plenty of time. No one is left behind if they know you are coming :)

Todd and Sue, I will be around the Park with no real agenda on that day. I would be happy to help you all get from place to place.

Jen and I want to be those two people in the lake. And we aren't killing whatever they are, just brushing them gently off the cam. I'll go gas up the car, Jen.

Re: dawson-pitamakin versus pitamakin dawson loop?

I have hiked bits and pieces of the South Shore Trail, and thought that the section of the trail closest to the upper boat dock was not in very good condition. It is overgrown with vegetation, narrow and extremely rocky. The section closer to the Two Medicine parking lot is, IMO, in much better cond...

This sort of thing isn't uncommon in certain rural/poor pockets around the country.

Re: July 31, 2010 - Many Glacier Area Trails Closed

I have been watching that trail status with bated breath for quite some time because you know my feelings about the garden hose section. I am only doing it once. And post as many of those green, evil faces as you can, Kathy, because you have yet to experience hiking with slow "petrified of heig...

Re: We met on the internet

Dave, I think your mother in law should meet my brother and they could sit around and be suspicious together. He has about 1000 heart attacks when I mention doing things with Chatter friends and it seems to have gotten worse since my mother passed away.

Learn it well, Kathy, and you can teach it to the rest of us as we hike along. I, personally, am too lazy to memorize :D

Great map, Jen. Maybe you should sell it to National Geographic because it certainly is of that quality. I especially like the "Beer with a View" (even though I don't drink beer, I do view).
