Re: BOU, HOL and BRO status update

Just returned from Bow/hole/boulder/kintla trip. Sites are fine, few bugs. New toilet at Hole is wonderful, though lacks the view that the old one at Boulder still has. 3-hazardous crossings with the snow still between pass and hole, but good tracks set in now. Sow and cub freqenting this route as t...

Re: Gable Creek

Given the option, I would chose something like gunsight lake far before gable. Maybe even upper two med lake. The trip in is dull until you get close and the views open. Belly river station and sokme short hikes to the falls are good and mentioned above (dawn mist falls is a great side trip) Trip ou...

Re: Speed-Climbing the Eiger, Without Ropes!

At one time, two of our locals supposidly held the speed record for this climb. That was a stop on the way back from Everest. John Roskelly and Chris Kopczynski. Back in the '80's I believe.

I have done both routes and would agree with above, doesn't matter how you get there, it is where you stay at night that is the issue.

Re: Redgap Pass Loop from Swiftcurrent

Did this hike a few years ago, one damned long day. The shortcut is very visible, but I have not done it so I can't suggest how to move down the east side once you cross.
